Tracey Coulon
Tracey Coulon, LICSW brings over 20 years of experience supporting people in meeting their goals in a therapeutic setting. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services from Springfield College, a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Boston University, as well as a post-graduate Certificate in Personal and Transformational Health from Plymouth State University.
Tracey has a warm, authentic personality and creates an inviting safe environment to support the healing process.
She uses a blended approach when working with each person, to assist with their specific needs and goals.
Though she has been extensively trained in the treatment of trauma, she also works with people who struggle with depression, anxiety, life transitions, and prenatal, perinatal and postpartum anxiety and depression. Some of the treatment modalities she may use include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Sensorimotor psychotherapy, mindfulness, Tapping, and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). She can also explore spirituality as a tool, whether it’s a formal religion, nature, breath, or whatever it is that can bring peace and hope into one’s life.
Tracey enjoys collaborating as an adjunct therapist with clients who have a current therapist but would like to receive EMDR treatment to help get past the stuck places. A client would remain working with their current therapist while concurrently having EMDR therapy specifically, with Tracey. When the EMDR is completed the relationship with Tracey is terminated and the client continues on with their primary therapist. This is covered by insurance, so long as the two therapies occur on different days.
Tracey also offers EMDR retreat style intensives. Traditional style therapy that the insurance industry allows is a 45 to 60 minute session weekly and can take months or years to reach goals. A portion of that time is allowed for checking in and any updates, and also closing and wrapping up work that has been completed during the allotment of time. Sometimes goals can be derailed by new crisis’ or concerns that come up in day to day living.
In the Retreat Style EMDR, we offer either 4 or 6 hour packages of time together for 2 to 5 days. It is difficult to give an exact amount of time, depending on the nature of the work to be done, but this is negotiated between you and Tracey. There is a tremendous amount of work that gets completed quickly, because once an assessment is completed and we get a working plan, work can begin. We continue to work as energy and time allows. Breaks are taken as needed and predetermined at the beginning of the session.
