Kenna Sloan

Whether or not you have experienced therapy before, I would be honored to help you. It is a privilege to learn about, grow with, and support you throughout the therapeutic process. I work with clients struggling with depression, grief/loss, trauma, life transition, job or academic-related stress, anxiety, and other areas of difficulty. Therapy helps you show up as your authentic self and feel empowered along the way to reaching your goals.

My approach to counseling is person-centered and emotion-focused: looking at the integrated whole of mind, body, and spirit. I strive to create a safe, sensitive, and accepting space for clients of all backgrounds and identities. It is important to me that you feel heard and validated. Together we will establish a professional relationship that acknowledges all aspects of you that make you who you are— to meet you where you are now, and over time, to help you get where you want to be.

A little bit about my background— I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Communications from American University then followed my passion by pursuing a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University. I chose to become a therapist because I believe the most precious, immensely powerful parts of life are meaningful connection and personal fulfillment. Asking yourself, “what makes me feel most alive” or “when do I feel most like myself” is a good way to start exploring this! If you feel we may be a good fit, submit an inquiry here on the website or call the number provided. Looking forward to beginning this process with you.
