Katie Wilson

This can be scary and vulnerable. You may be here for a variety of reasons; perhaps you experienced a loss or trauma, maybe you’re finding it difficult to maintain your relationships. Anxiety and depression can feel like they’re creeping in, and you just don’t know what to do; you’re feeling stuck.

Whatever brought you here, you’re here. Try and take a deep breath and relax those shoulders of yours. You’re right, this IS hard and vulnerable. Something told you to look for a therapist and I’m so glad for that. I’m here to work with you in developing a treatment plan that exists FOR you and includes everything you would like to address whether that be anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship work or the unknown in your life. Sometimes you do not know what is happening just that you need assistance. This is okay.

We all have a mental health, just as we have a physical one. Though, our physical health can sometimes take precedence over our mental health. This is a large part of why I got into the mental health field. I want to help reduce the stigma associated with mental health services and asking for help. I have roots in teaching and admire the work done with education around mental health and coping skills.

I am a kink and poly-informed therapist and have considerable experience working within the LGTBQIA+ community. These are populations I am deeply passionate and eager to work with.

I have existing experience and can see clients of ALL ages. Yes, I see children! Below are topics within my scope of service. Depending on your need, I may be able to provide services, after discussion and consideration. Treatment is provided with the model of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and enhanced, if needed, with expressive arts interventions.

Education and Experience

I have a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from New England College and have worked in a variety of settings from residential services to case management, and most recently I completed my internship at a private practice. I also have experience working with clients who have severe and persistent mental illnesses and have provided crisis intervention working within community mental health.
