Abigail Taylor

I’ve spent the last 10 years listening to stories. Through my work in a community mental health center, on an ICU, in an emergency department and most recently, a primary care practice, I’ve listened and learned that there is no greater force than that of the human spirit. Along the way, I’ve collected a constellation of titles, from MSW to LICSW, from wife to mom. But no title outshines the one I hold most dear - human being. My clinical work reflects this guiding principle, “how can I as a human help you as a human?”

As a licensed independent clinical social worker, I provide individual counseling to clients 18 and older experiencing a wide array of challenges and concerns including anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, interpersonal conflict, and self-esteem.  As a generalist with an eclectic practice, I pull from a variety of modalities including CBT, DBT, ACT, Solution Focused Therapy and Motivational Interviewing to ensure a treatment approach that is as unique as the people I see.

I’m honest, frank, and comfortable challenging pre-written narratives that stifle personal growth and change. I’m authentic, a little weird, and nothing if not human myself. I strive to create a space that is built on connection, trust, and vulnerability. There’s nothing more inspiring to me, than someone who is brave enough to share their story; I’m honored for the chance to listen to yours.
